St. Anthony Community Hospital’s First Baby of 2017 Arrives January 1 in the Hospital’s Kennedy Birthing Center

WARWICK – (Jan. 1) He came into the world at 3:20 a.m. on New Year's Day, earning the honor of being the first baby born this year at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick, NY and perhaps all of Orange County.

Martin King Charles Paul Jr., born to India and Martin Paul of Chester, weighed seven pounds three ounces and measured 22 inches long.

Martin also has two sisters, Angel, 7, and Asia, 3. Obstetrician James K. Brockunier, M.D., was the attending physician assisted by nurses Raphaella Zappula, RN, Denise Kleinman, RN and Jo Ellen Leeper, RN.

"I love the doctors and the nurses here," said India Paul. "And this facility is beautiful."

The National award winning Kennedy Birthing Center is a state-of-the-art maternity unit, providing many innovative options and amenities.

With its beautifully decorated, single birthing suites, the Kennedy Birthing Center was built to cater to family needs, providing homelike surroundings for a more natural labor, delivery and recovery, all in one location, during a complication-free birth process.
